WHAT IT IS

What a 1.5 Inch Shoe Lift Does

A 1.5 inch shoe lift (about 3.8 cm) is where weight and roll start to decide whether a lift gets worn or left in the closet. A solid 1.5″ block under one shoe is heavy and makes you walk flat. We build this height with a rocker-style taper from the ball of the foot forward, and we recommend honeycomb construction to keep it light.

Height band: 1 1/8″ – 1 1/2″ (2.9–3.8 cm). Price: $99.99 per pair, any shoe type, free shipping both ways. Turnaround: work completed in 1–3 business days once your shoes arrive.

Who a 1.5 Inch Lift Is For

  • A measured difference around 1 1/8″ to 1 1/2″, or a larger one being corrected in stages.
  • Congenital differences, post-fracture shortening, and differences after joint replacement or limb surgery.
  • People who already wear a 1″ lift and have been told to step up.
  • Anyone whose current 1.5″ lift is heavy, square-edged or peeling — we can remove it and rebuild it properly.

This page is general guidance, not medical advice. For any difference over about 1/2″, or if you have pain, confirm the lift height with your doctor or physical therapist first. Our page on signs you need a shoe lift includes a tool to find a specialist near you.

HOW WE BUILD IT

How We Build a 1 1/2″ Lift

The sole is split and a full-length 1.5″ layer is bonded in, then shaped to the shoe. From the ball of the foot forward the layer tapers toward the toe — a mild rocker — so your foot rolls through the step instead of hinging over a stiff block. The sides and heel are finished to match the original sole colour.

At 1.5″ we suggest the honeycomb option ($9.99). The internal honeycomb pattern removes a noticeable amount of weight while keeping the lift strong, and it makes a real difference over a full day of walking. For sports and heavy work, rigid material ($19.99) adds stability.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

1.5 Inch Shoe Lift Questions

Click any question to expand the answer.

Is 1.5 inches too much to correct at once?

That depends on how long you have had the difference. Clinicians often correct a new, post-surgical difference fully and a long-standing one gradually. Follow your doctor’s or physical therapist’s recommendation, and if you are unsure, our page on choosing the correct shoe lift height explains the trade-offs.

How heavy is a 1.5 inch lift?

Standard construction adds noticeable weight to one shoe; honeycomb construction cuts a good share of it. If you walk a lot, add honeycomb — it is the most common add-on at this height.

Will it look like a platform shoe?

On sneakers and boots it looks like a thick sole, not a platform, because the layer is shaped and colour-matched. On thin dress shoes 1.5″ is visible; many customers move their dress-shoe lift to a chunkier style for that reason.

Can you replace my existing lift?

Yes. We remove the old lift ($19.99) and build the new one at the height you need. See shoe lift adjustment.

What does a 1.5 inch shoe lift cost?

$99.99 per pair, shipping included both ways. Honeycomb +$9.99, rigid material +$19.99. Children’s shoes get $10 off. Full pricing by lift height.
