OUR STORY

Built on Craftsmanship, Not Compromise

CNET Orthopedic started in 2014 as a one-man workshop in Brecksville, Ohio, with one job: build shoe lifts that people with a leg length discrepancy (LLD) would actually want to wear. The usual alternatives were a heavy block glued under the heel, a shop that would only touch certain shoes, or a wait of several weeks. I thought a lift should be full-length, tapered so the shoe still rolls, colour-matched so nobody sees it — and finished in days, not weeks.

Few shops build lifts this way, and people with LLD live everywhere, so the workshop became a mail-in service. Today every order arrives by USPS from somewhere in the 50 states, is built in the same workshop within 1–3 business days of arriving, and ships back the day it is finished — free both ways. More than 5,000 pairs have crossed this bench so far: athletic sneakers, welted dress shoes, steel-toe work boots, sandals, golf shoes and children’s shoes, in lifts from 1/8″ to 6″.

The standard has not changed since the first pair. I split every sole myself, bond the lift — never bolt or nail it — and contour the build to the shoe’s own profile. Physical therapists, orthopedic surgeons and pediatric specialists send us their patients for the build, and clinicians can read how we work with prescribed heights on our page for doctors and clinicians.

Meet Cristian — Founder & Craftsman

CNET Orthopedic is run by Cristian Palomeque, who founded the workshop in 2014 and has built every lift that has left it since — more than 5,000 pairs for people with leg length discrepancy. Cristian splits the soles, bonds the lifts from 1/8″ to 6″, and contours each build so the finished shoe looks factory-made. There is no production line here; the person who answers the phone is the person holding your shoe.

A word on credentials: Cristian is a craftsman, not a pedorthist or a doctor, and does not claim to be one. The work is judged the way shoe work has always been judged — by the finished pair, by whether it comes back for a second pair, and by the clinicians who keep sending patients. For large discrepancies, pain, or anything involving a child, we will always tell you to confirm your measurement with a doctor or physical therapist first. That honesty is why podiatrists, physical therapists and orthopedic clinics trust us with the build itself.

Questions for Cristian? Call (347) 853-2995 or email info@cnetorthopedic.com — a real human answers. You can also see the work before you send anything: hundreds of finished pairs are in the shoe lift gallery, and every height we build is explained on the shoe lift sizes chart.
